A LIFE OF SERVICE
ABOUT SAM
SERVICE BEFORE POLITICS
Sam Wong is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel with nearly three decades of honorable service. A third-generation Army veteran, he led American troops in combat and peacekeeping missions across the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and Asia, serving at every level he was promoted to.
Sam is not a career politician. He spent his adult life protecting American lives and U.S. interests, making high-stakes decisions under pressure. He brings that same accountability and seriousness to public service today.

PROVEN LEADERSHIP
Sam served as a senior intelligence officer within the U.S. Intelligence Community, representing the Defense Intelligence Agency and advising over 100 U.S. Embassy Defense Attaché Offices worldwide. His work directly supported U.S. foreign policy, military readiness, and strategic competition.
He is a recognized expert on China’s military strategy, global influence, and emerging technologies. Sam has lived and worked in China, authored intelligence assessments for senior leaders, and provided early warning analysis on major global threats.
AN AMERICAN STORY
Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sam is American-born with Chinese and Peruvian heritage. His family history includes military service, escape from communist regimes, entrepreneurship, and strong faith-based values rooted in hard work and personal responsibility.
Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and Spanish, Sam understands how global trade, authoritarian regimes, and foreign policy decisions affect American workers and national security. He believes America is strongest when united by shared values, not divided by identity politics.

SERVICE ISNT FINISHED
After retiring from active duty, Sam continued serving as a defense intelligence professional supporting national security research and weapons nonproliferation. He also serves his community as a veterans’ organization leader in Northern Virginia.
Sam is running for Congress because Virginia deserves serious leadership. He is focused on accountability, national security, small businesses, constitutional freedoms, and safer communities. He will serve in Congress the same way he served in uniform: with discipline, integrity, and results.
