Breaking the Affordability Trap in District 10

Throughout my 28 years in the U.S. Army, I learned that a strong defense requires a stable home front. But today, for many families in Virginia’s 10th District, that home front is under siege. We are witnessing a "perfect storm" where the cost of living in Northern Virginia is outstripping the value of our hard earned assets.
I am committed to addressing the Affordability Crisis by putting an end to the "high cost, low reward" environment that is draining our middle class.
The Realities Facing the 10th District:
The Equity Erosion: While home prices are technically rising, the "real" return for homeowners is turning negative once you factor in 6% mortgage rates, rising insurance premiums, and aggressive property tax assessments.
The Residential Tax Squeeze: As commercial office values plummet, local governments in areas like Loudoun are shifting the tax burden onto residential homeowners to fill their budget gaps. In 2026, we’ve seen residential assessments continue to climb even as the commercial sector weakens.
The "Lock-In" Effect: Many of our neighbors are stuck in homes they have outgrown because moving would mean trading a stable 3% mortgage for a 6% rate, all while paying higher taxes on a more expensive property.
Stagflation of Everyday Costs: It isn't just the mortgage. The surge in everyday inflation, specifically in groceries, utilities, and healthcare, means families have less disposable income to maintain their quality of life.
My Plan for a More Affordable Virginia:
I stand with the efforts to prioritize the "economic backbone" of our state. My mission is to:
Protect Homeowners from Unfair Tax Shifts: We must stop treating residential property as a blank check to cover for declining commercial tax revenues.
Combat Essential Cost Inflation: I will support initiatives that target the skyrocketing costs of healthcare and groceries to ensure Virginia families can weather market dips.
Encourage Sensible Growth: We need to address the inventory issues in places like Loudoun County that keep prices artificially high for new buyers, ensuring the American Dream remains attainable for the next generation.
We don't grow our economy by making it more expensive to simply exist in our own homes. I will use my background in Strategic Intelligence to find real solutions that protect your equity and keep the 10th District prosperous.
